Alums and Friends

Mission Statement

Our mission as the Alums and Family and Friends (AFF) is to ensure that ALL children in our community have access to a high quality Catholic Education regardless of their family's income or ethnicity.  We make this happen by raising money for tuition assistance for Community of Saints Regional Catholic School.  By providing an academically rigorous, value-based education in a small school environment, we are helping to close the achievement gap in our community.

Our Students

  • Nearly 7 out of 10 students receive tuition assistance from Alums and Friends
  • 95-100% of our graduates have completed high school
  • 100% of our graduates go on to college, technical programs or the military

Our Work

  • Creates education and life opportunities for students
  • Keeps Catholic education strong on the West Side
  • Allows for more resources in classroom education for students

The Good News Quarterly

  • The Good News is a free, quarterly, full-color publication featuring alumni and reunion information as well as school updates.  To receive it, email Doug Lieser at
  • To suggest articles or provide information or a photo for The Good News, email our editor Maggie Lee, at
  • To read the most recent edition, click here Newsletter

Your Investment In Our Students

  • Creates opportunities for Alums of St Matthew's and graduates from the other sponsoring parish communities to re-connect and "pay it forward"
  • Provides for more technology and other resources in the classrooms
  • Produces rich results and lifetime benefits for our students, our community and our world
