The Community of St. Matthew includes more than parishioners. Loaves and Fishes, St. Mary’s Clinic, Casa Guadalupana, People of Praise and Quantum STEAM Academy all benefit from St. Matthew’s presence on the West Side. And these programs serve many people, well beyond the parish membership. We need strong parish leadership to continue to be the Good Samaritan on St. Paul’s West Side. Our History In 1886, St. Matthew's was founded as a German National parish and stayed that way throughout the first half of the 20th century. It emerged during the second half of the 20th century as a strong, urban, Catholic community engaged in the worship of God and the service of neighbor.
