Monthly Meeting

Wednesday, January 9, 8 pm, in the Social Hall. Menu – chili.

Father Kelly Breakfast Sunday

The Men’s Club will be hosting breakfast this Sunday January 6th right after 10am mass. This breakfast is in honor of Father Kelly who will be leaving St. Matthew’s. The cooking will start at 8am, please stop in if you can help. Father Kelly was a big supporter of our organization and will be missed.

Board Member Change

With the passing of Bob Nowak, Wayne Gilbertson stepped into replace that position on the board. Thanks Wayne!

Christmas Auction

Despite our original plan to forgo the auction and take donations we held an auction at the December meeting. In less than 1 hour we raised $2100.00. 12 families were given a grocery gift card valued at $150.00. 4 two-member families each received a $75.00 grocery gift card. Everyone was very generous, but I would like to mention one member. At the end of the auction Harry Brady said he would match donations up to $1,000.00, we raised over $400.00 and Harry matched it with a donation for the same amount. Thank you for your generosity Harry!

Sick and Vigil

Tim Krey’s mother Phyllis passed away just before Christmas. Evan Berg’s father-In law continues to fight through health problems and Wayne Gilbertson is getting a knee replacement this coming Monday. Please keep the Kreys, Bergs and Wayne in your prayers.

Meat Raffles

The meat raffles continue to be a consistent fund raiser for the Men’s Club, if you can help on Friday’s at Gallagher’s around 5 pm please sign up on the sheet that will be passed around at the general meeting.

Manger Take Down

The take-down will be Saturday January 12th, we will start around 8:30am. We had a great turn out for the set-up and it went very quickly, hopefully we can get the same number of members for the take-down. The club will provide treats and beverages after the take-down is complete.

Father Adrian Dinner

When we first discussed and voted at the general meeting, the club was going to provide two bartenders, pop and beer, the school was going to provide the wine. The board decided to cover the cost of the wine also. This was not a part of the original vote, but we felt it was right thing to do. We will discuss this further at the general meeting.
