LOCAL SUPPORT (1)
. . . comes in several forms, such as prayer, volunteering, and financial.
As I mentioned last week, we’re not sending out a general stewardship letter this fall. Rather, we simply ask you to continue supporting our faith community as best you can. Start with prayer. If you can volunteer and/or contribute financially, great! It all helps. It all makes a difference.
We do have a specific fundraising effort this month, however. That’s our 3rd Annual November Giving Thanks Fundraiser. It’s like a raffle: for every $20 donation, you have 30 chances to win a cash prize, one for each day in November. And, you have a 100% chance to support our parish!
We’ve already mailed a Giving Thanks Fundraiser form to everyone in our parish database. In addition to the fundraiser, the mailing includes our annual financial report to the parish. Please let Angela Rakow, our Administrative Assistant, know if you do not receive the mailing by the end of this week.
Additional fundraiser forms are available in the back of church and in the parish office. All proceeds are designated for security systems and cameras.
LOCAL SUPPORT (2)
St. Matt’s helps support Casa Guadalupana, a homeless shelter located in our former rectory. Residents have come from around the world, often from very difficult circumstances. To tell us more, Casa Director Dave Haley will speak at both Masses next weekend.
WORLD SUPPORT
And speaking of people from around the world, next weekend is World Mission Sunday. It’s an annual reminder that we’re part of a global faith community. (After all, “catholic” with a small c means universal.) Let us join with Catholics around the world to pray and offer our support for the missionary life of the Church.
Thank you for your support, and have a great week!
