“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
We need volunteers to continue the work of serving our parish and community. Currently we have 3 continuing opportunities.
FAITH FORMATION TEACHERS NEEDED
The St. Matthew Faith Formation program for public school students in grades 1 – 10 will resume in mid-September and we have openings for teachers and helpers. Volunteers should enjoy helping children know, love, and serve Jesus and their neighbor, as they learn more about their Catholic faith. Classes are held on Wed. evenings from 6:30 to 7:45 pm, between Sept and April. Curriculum and supplies are provided. If a weekly commitment is too much, please consider being a substitute or helping with specific events. To find out more, call or email Janelle Rohr, Faith Formation coordinator, 651.457.3522 or .
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD, TEACHERS AND HELPERS NEEDED
From mid-September until mid-May, children ages 3 to 6 may participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 10:15 AM Mass; the children are in the chapel about 20 minutes for age-appropriate instruction and crafts. We need more teachers and teen helpers to consistently offer the program every weekend. Curriculum and supplies are provided. For more information about what is involved, email Faith Formation director Janelle Rohr at or call her at 651-457-3522.
We are still in need of workers for the fall festival. Especially on Sunday afternoon. If you can help in the kitchen, serving or running the dishwasher. A two-hour shift between 11am and 4pm. We are looking for volunteers to help set up the Kids’ Games area at 8am Sunday Sept. 15. Also to help work the games. (If you will be in the Confirmation program this will work toward one of you Service Projects!) We also need more people to help break down the booths on Sunday afternoon at 4pm and help put everything back into storage until next year.
A huge thank you to all who came during the last 12 days to clean strawberries! While working and enjoying the company of fellow parishioners, you earned money for the new church roof!
We also thank all who filled out a Fall Festival Volunteer form last weekend. Each one of you will be helping to support our parish!
