VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & PARISH NEEDS

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:8

COMMUNION TO HOMEBOUND:  Do you have family, neighbors or friends who are unable to attend mass? If you would like to take communion to them in their homes, call the Parish Center or see a Sacristan before mass. If you do not have a pyx one will be provided.

PROJECT SLIDE DECK During Filming of Sat. 4:15pm Mass: Need a 2nd volunteer to project, by use of an iPad, a prepared slide deck, containing the words to prayers & songs. These slides appear on the screen during airing of Sun. 10:15am Streamed Mass. An iPad is available. Training will be provided. If you know of someone who enjoys working with computers, please share this opportunity with them.  It is preferable that more than one person would be available to take part in this ministry.

STRAWBERRY CLEANING For several years, members of our parish would gather to clean strawberries for the owner of a booth at the State Fair. We would begin the day before the fair opened and our last day would be the Sunday before Labor Day. Some came every day, some just weekends and others came whenever they could. It was fun and profitable! Last year COVID-19 brought this experience to an end. The governor has stated that there will be a State Fair this summer!! In past years we have earned over $5000 for a few hours work each day. The more who volunteer the faster the job is completed each day.

If our friends from the Strawberry Booth can re-open this year and you would like to help our parish earn some needed income, please email me at . You may also call the Parish Center and leave your name and phone number or email address with the receptionist or on the answering machine. We need to know approx. how many people may be available to help. If there are not enough volunteer prospects, we will not be able to accept the job!

THANK YOU to the 281 parishioners who attended the in-person First Communion masses last Sat. & Sun. To Fr. Adrian who through his homily, gives us strength and hope. To Andy & Linda who handled the opening announcements. To our Pianist Jill & Cantor Andy. Lectors Ellen, Lily & J Acosta-Palmeros, Eucharistic Ministers Kathy, Josie, Tim, Ginny, Joanne & Dave.  Ushers Tom, Tim James & Doris. Sacristans Mary, Ginny & Joanne and. Thank you to Alan, who through his talent  films our masses, making it possible for many of our parishioners to take part on-line.

Congratulations to the Children of our parish who celebrated their First Communion last Sat. & Sun.

THANK YOU to Faith Formation Director Janelle, who oversees and plans all the details for these special celebrations for the children of our parish. To Teachers Lily & Joanne who prepared the children to receive their 1st Communion. Finally, to the Parents who help to strengthen their children’s faith and will devotedly bring them to receive the sacrament.
