VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & PARISH NEEDS

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:8

COMMUNION TO HOMEBOUND: Do you have family, neighbors or friends who are unable to attend mass? If you would like to take communion to them in their homes, call the Parish Center or see a Sacristan before mass. If you do not have a pyx one will be provided.

FAITH FORMATION SUBSTITUTES & HELPERS NEEDED: Public school children grades 1 to 10 will start attending weekly Wednesday evening religion classes at St. Matthew Parish Center in late September. Some classrooms will need  helpers on occasion, and the program also needs substitute teachers and substitute front desk persons a few times during the year. Volunteers complete some steps before classes begin in Sept. If you would like more information about these volunteer roles, please contact Faith Formation director Janelle Rohr for details; email or call 651-242-6004. Thank You.

MUSICIANS NEEDED: St Matthews Music Ministry is looking for more singers, cantors, guitarists, keyboardists, string players, & wind instrument players for weekend masses. Contact Jill Kilzer Director of music and Liturgy .

STRAWBERRY CLEANING: ONLY 5 DAYS UNTIL THE START OF THE STATE FAIR! We have again been asked to clean strawberries for the Strawberry & Cream booth! In past years we have earned over $5000 for a few hours work each day. The more who volunteer the faster the job is completed each day. We will begin cleaning strawberries at 8am Wed. Aug. 25th and every morning through Sunday Sept 5th. If you would like to help our parish earn some needed income, sign-up sheets are on the table in the back of the church. You may also email me at . Or call the Parish Center and leave your name and phone number or email address, with the receptionist or on the answering machine. Walk Ins are also welcome! The work is easy, and the socializing is fun! Come and join the 52 parishioners & friends who have already volunteered  for “The Great St. Matthews Get-Together”!
