VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & PARISH NEEDS
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
FAITH FORMATION SUBSTITUTES & HELPERS NEEDED: Public school children grades 1 to 10 have started attending weekly Wednesday evening religion classes at St. Matthew Parish Center. THANK YOU: To the 20+ parishioners & friends who gathered last Sat. to clean inside the church and the outside parish campus. In less than 3 hours the work was complete! A little over 3 yrs ago a decision was made to become a Volunteer Parish. To keep down expenses volunteers would come forward to do whatever jobs they were able to undertake. The campus-wide cleaning last Sat. was an example of the wisdom of that decision. Not only was a great deal of cleaning accomplished, but also camaraderie was experienced as parishioners gathered to clean and beautify their parish and enjoy the company of each other.
THANK YOU: To Chris who volunteered to be a greeter at the Sat. mass. Some who entered from the Robie St. door commented on how nice it was to be welcomed and offered a song book and a bulletin! We also want to thank Tim & Tom who every Saturday greet those who enter through the front doors.
THANK YOU: To the 122 parishioners who attended the 4:15pm mass last Sat. and the 89 parishioners who attended the 10:15am Sunday mass. Thank You to Fr. Adrian who through his homily, gives us strength and hope as we continue to deal with a pandemic. To Andy who handled the opening announcements for 4:15 mass & Linda at 10:15. To our Pianist Jill Sat. & Sun and Cantor Andy on Sat. and Linda who was Cantor on Sun. Phil who played the Irish Whistle and Tony the guitar on Sun. Lectors Mary on Sat & Joanne on Sun. Eucharistic Ministers Suzanne, Karen & Tim – Sat; Ginny, Karen & Ellen – Sun. Ushers Tom & Tim on Sat; Ginny & Janelle on Sun. Sacristans Mary – Sat, Ginny & Joanne – Sun.
