Volunteer Opportunities and Parish Needs for the week of 2-27-2022

Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:8

GREETERS: St. Matthews seeks additional “Greeters”, for both Sat. & Sun. masses, to extend a warm welcome to those arriving for Mass. Your friendly smile and enthusiasm for the Church of St. Matthew are all that’s needed. To help, contact: , or the parish office.

THANK YOU: To the 88 parishioners who attended the 4:15pm mass last Sat. Feb 19thth and the 67 parishioners who attended the 10:15am Sunday mass. Thank You to Fr. Adrian who through his homily, gives us strength and hope as we continue to deal with the pandemic. To Andy who handled the opening announcements at the Sat. 4:15 mass & Becky at 10:15 am on Sunday. To our Pianist Brian on Sat and to Pianist Jill on Sunday with Phil playing the trumpet.  Cantor Andy on Sat & Shelly on Sun. We thank Lector Kathy on Sat & Miles on Sun.  Eucharistic Ministers  Karen, Ann & Ellen on Sat;  Ginny, Maggie Lee & Becky on Sun. Ushers Tim, Kevin & Doris Sat; Ginny & James on Sun. Sacristans Mary on Sat,  Joanne & Ginny – Sun. Thank you to  John, Tim, Corrine, Dave, & Ginny who took communion to parishioners unable to attend mass that weekend.

THANK YOU: To our teams of Money Counters. We thank Ann, Joan, Jackie, Mary, Joanne & Ginny. They faithfully gather each week to count the weekly collection, along with any other special collections that took place. We also thank Bill, Jan, Marci and Posthumously Leo. They have recently retired as Money Counting volunteers, most after 15 – 20 years of service. We thank them for their dedication to our parish!

THANK YOU: To  Reyes who gathered all the fabric chairs & had them placed by the front entrance. Making it easier for the purchasers from Iowa to load the chairs into their trailer. Thank you to Mary who met the buyers early that morning and helped to make the transition seamless.

THANK YOU: To Kathy & Al who faithfully come weekly to change and clean the vigil light holders. They also make sure the altar and ambo candles are changed out when needed.

These are added examples that:   WE ARE A VOLUNTEER PARISH!
