Volunteer Opportunities and Parish Needs for the week of 7-3-2022

Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:8

GREETERS: St. Matthews parish seeks additional “Greeters”, for Sun. masses. We welcome People who are able  to extend a warm welcome to those arriving for Mass. Your friendly smile and enthusiasm for the Church of St. Matthew are all that is needed. To help, contact: , or the parish office.

OFFERTORY PROCESSION:  We have returned to having an Offertory Procession at each mass. If you are willing to bring up the bread and wine occasionally, please speak to a sacristan before mass. You may also call the Parish center or email Mary Leibl at .

MINISTRY OF COMPASSION: Each week, we have several parishioners, listed in the bulletin, and included in the Intercessions at mass, who need our prayers as they deal with health issues. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to occasionally call to let these families know we care about their loved ones, and if needed, we will continue listing them in the weekly bulletin. We already have 1 volunteer (Jerry) for this ministry and would like to have more volunteers. If you feel this is a ministry you would like to be a part of, please call the Parish Center or email Mary Leibl at

THANK YOU: To the 129 people who attended the Sat mass & 79 who worshipped on Sunday.  Thank You to, Fr. Adrian, who through his homilies helps us to see how the readings pertain to our own lives. To our Sat. Pianist Brian & Pianist Jill & Trumpeter Phil on Sun.  Our Cantor Kathy on Sat. & Linda on Sun along with singer Andy. Thank You to Kathy who read the announcements on Sat and Linda on Sunday. We thank Lectors Tim on Sat &  Ginny on Sun. Thank you to Owen’s grandfathers  who brought the Offertory gifts forward on Sat, and Matt & Conrad on Sun. Eucharist Ministers  Ellen, Kathy, Tom & Tim on Sat. & Joanne, Joe & Dave on Sun. Thank You to Ushers Tim, Tom, & Kevin on Sat.  Anthony & Steve – Sun. To Greeters Chris, Tom & Tim on Sat. & Josiah on Sunday. Thank you to Sacristans Mary on Sat & Joanne & Ginny on Sunday. Thank You to Dave, Tim, Ginny & Joe who took the Eucharist to parishioners unable to attend mass in person.

THANK YOU: To Donis who watered all the plants in the church during the present heat wave & to Chris who tends the garden outside the main entrance to the church!

THANK YOU: To Ginny who arrived before mass on Saturday, bringing her own personal fans from home to place throughout the church! This act of charity helped all in attendance to be a little more comfortable as we did not have a working A/C system!!!

We are a volunteer parish!
