Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8
STRAWBERRIES: In just three days, we will begin cleaning strawberries! Keep Wednesday, August 23 – Sunday, September 3 open! Our parish has again been asked to clean strawberries for the Strawberry & Cream booth at the Minnesota State Fair! We begin cleaning each day at about 8:00 AM and are usually finished about noon. The amount of berries to be cleaned depends on the weather and crowd size at the fair. Many of our volunteers look forward to this project and have already signed up to let us know they will help clean berries! They enjoy being together and socializing with fellow parishioners. If you haven’t yet signed up or if you have never taken part in this opportunity, reserve at least one day on your calendar and see if you too might find the experience enjoyable. The Social Hall will be open by 7:30 AM each day. Come to our own Great St. Matthew Get-Together!
BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS: As we continue to return to pre-COVID “normalcy” we would like to again offer blood pressure checks once a month. As in the past, blood pressure will be checked after Masses on the third weekend of the month. If you are trained and qualified to check blood pressures, and would be willing to offer this service to our parishioners, please contact Mary at or contact the parish office at 651-224-9793. The parish has all the equipment needed to offer this service.
TUTORS: Catholic Tutor Corps is looking for volunteers to help tutor students in reading and/or math. Tutors are needed at Community of Saints Regional Catholic School as well as Holy Trinity Catholic School in South Saint Paul. Years ago we had a similar program at St. Matthew School. Sr. Audrey Lindenfelser, SSND organized and directed the program. Many of our “senior” parishioners helped one day a week in the school. Lesson plans were provided. More information can be found in bulletin insert. If interested, contact the parish office at 651-224-9793.
THANK YOU: To Becky, Suzanne and members of St. Matthew Rosary Society who led the Rosary at Cherokee Park on the second Tuesday of each month this summer. A beautiful way to introduce this devotion to other visitors at the park!
