NOTE: The latest opportunities are listed each week in the parish bulletin.

Many ways to serve!

From Mary Leibl,
Volunteer Coordinator

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” – Isaiah 6:8

We need volunteers to continue the work of serving our parish and community. Currently we have 1 immediate opportunities and 4 continuing opportunities.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING

Need Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs) and Physicians who would be willing to volunteer once a month after Saturday & Sunday Masses. Blood pressure reading will take please the first weekend of each month.

Blood pressure cuffs will be provided; volunteers are asked to bring their own stethoscopes.

LITURGICAL MINISTERS

Need volunteers to serve as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Gift Bearers and Sacristans at the Saturday 4:00 pm. Mass. Will train.

MUSICIANS

In need of choir members, cantors & instrumentalists. The choir sings for Sunday 10:00 am mass and practices on alternate weeks September-May. Choir practice is 9:00 am on those alternate Sunday mornings. Cantors and instrumentalists are needed for any of the weekend masses.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Need teachers and teen helpers to assist with Children’s Liturgy of the Word. This liturgy is offered during the school year at the Sunday 10 am Mass.

GRANT WRITING

Need experienced grant writers. Utilize your grant writing skills to work with the website GrantStation to find funding and apply for grants for the Church of St. Matthew and its sponsored ministries.

FAITH FORMATION

Need teaching assistant for 1st grade Classroom. Capable of stepping in as substitute teacher on occasion if needed. Will need to complete VIRTUS training, criminal background check & sign code of conduct.

COFFEE SUNDAY HELPERS

Looking for hospitality coordinators: Will plan & organize food, drinks, service, setup and cleanup at 5-6 events in October, December, February, March and April. Recruit helpers and contributors. Need to enjoy being around kids. Best if two persons who work well together shared the coordinating job.

I invite anyone who could help with these volunteer opportunities to contact me through the parish office or email me at

THANK YOU

We thank Greg & Diane Lothenbach, Al & Kathy Schowalter and Tim Dalzell for painting the doors in the Parish Center.

Thanks to all who volunteered to help set up and take down the Fall Festival booths on Friday & Sunday nights. To those who since last July organized and chaired each booth. To all parishioners and friends who volunteered to help operate the booths and games on Saturday and Sunday. To everyone who generously donated items to add to the enjoyment of our festival. Thanks to all who came on Saturday & Sunday to enjoy the fun and fellowship of our Fall Festival. The generosity of all our parishioners and friends made possible the success of our festival!

The staff and parishioners of St. Matthew parish thank you for your generosity of time and talent!
