Policies and procedures for the return to in-person Mass

9-3-2021

At St. Matt’s, we follow guidelines from the CDC, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the
Archdiocese. As such we offer masks at each of the church entrances for your use with every good wish and strong encouragement. We are not currently requiring masks at Mass. The CDC acknowledges that infections are rare for those who are vaccinated, and severe illness and death are even rarer. While infection is still possible for anyone, each person needs to evaluate their own situation. If you are not feeling well, please do not attend Mass in person, but rather follow us on our website or on our YouTube channel.

Regarding vaccinations, Pope Francis recently said it very well:

“Being vaccinated with vaccines authorized by the competent authorities is an act of love. And
contributing to ensure the majority of people are vaccinated is an act of love.

He added: “Vaccination is a simple but profound way of promoting the common good and caring for each other, especially the most vulnerable.”

Saint Matthew welcomes all to our parish.  At the same time, we pledge to keep a safe environment for everyone.

We continue to pray for the healthcare workers caring for the sick. As restrictions are slowly eased, pray for all those who are infected with the virus, please pray for all who have died—and their families; and pray for the safety of everyone.
