Parish Volunteers

“Whoever has a heart full of love always has something to give.” —Pope John XXIII

Front Desk Volunteer

If you enjoy interacting with people, this is your fit!

You’ll answer and redirect phone calls, greet visitors, and help staff with simple clerical tasks. You may be the first impression of St. Matt’s friendliness!  Shifts are in the morning, one day a week, and you’ll mostly be sitting.  Some volunteers like to start as a substitute. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Mary Leibl.

Money Counters

Are you good with numbers? Join our team to help count and record weekly offertory gifts.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Teams are usually scheduled for two weeks each month on either Sunday after Mass or Monday morning. To learn more, please contact pastoral administrator, Phil Grant.

Parish Library

Do you love books?  Help us share our growing collection with others.

This is an opportunity to help us create a parish library. Thanks to the donation of books from Fr. Steve Adrian’s library, we have an excellent collection of books by a wide range of theologians as well as an interesting assortment of fiction and nonfiction – something for everyone.  To learn more, call the Parish Office, 651-224-9793.

Facilities Committee

Are you handy? Do you have skills related to maintaining older buildings? Keeping our campus buildings in good shape is central to our mission to help others.

This team of experienced and knowledgeable volunteers works with the pastoral administrator to oversee the various buildings and facilities on our campus, and sometimes tackle hands-on projects. For more information, contact Phil Grant.

Communications Committeee

Have an interest in technology, or communications? Help us share what’s happening at St. Matt’s.

Clear communication is essential to keeping parishioners informed and involved. As part of this team, you can help staff create online content, take photos at parish events, or write for parish publications. We especially need people to monitor our website and help keep it up to date. For more information, please contact Angela Rakow.
